Jordan Ives Race Report 6/23/14

IVES MOTORSPORTS

Hello,

This is Jordan Ives.  I’d like to apologize for not updating you with a race report in a timely manner.  Although the race schedule and weekly tasks can be much, my goal from here on out is to keep you informed on the outcome of our races and any special events.

Last Friday (6/13/14) we raced the Auto Value Challenge at Norway Speedway. We qualified 5th with a time of 14.7 and finished 6th in the dash due to side by side racing which made it difficult to advance. For the A feature we started 6th row inside. We worked traffic as hard as we could and went 3 wide a couple of times to try and make some moves, but the side by side racing continued and we finished 7th.

This past week we had a triple header planned for the weekend, WIR on Thursday, Norway Speedway on Friday, and Jefferson Speedway on Saturday.

At WIR on 6/19/14 we were running Robb Vanderloop’s #18 super late model.  We qualified 14th with a time of 19.9 and started 2nd row inside for the heat race. The car was a little tight and we got pinned back by a slower car in front of us, but we still managed to finish 5th. In the A feature we started 7th row outside and got up to 10th, I was working my way up to 9th and spun with 3 laps to go.  During the spin I was involved in a minor accident, and got clipped in the front end of the car. We ended up finishing 13th, but overall the night was a success and great seat time at a fast track, I enjoyed the opportunity to drive Rob’s car and spend time with his team.

The race scheduled for Friday at Norway Speedway was canceled due to rain, so we prepared for the Saturday race at Jefferson Speedway. We qualified 5th at Jefferson Speedway and took 5th in the dash. In the feature we started 5th row inside.  The start of the race was a wreck fest!  We made it to 4th place but got slowed up by 2 cars getting tangled up in front of us so we got passed by 3 people and ended up taking 7th, but we managed to finish the race with only body damage.  The race was very intense and made for an exciting night of racing!

This week we are scheduled to race Norway on Friday.  We are also excited to announce that in recent developments, I will be piloting the Robb Vanderloop / Vanderloop Equipment owned #18 Super Late model this Thursday and for the remainder of the WIR race schedule.
